Our Story
Starting a winery in Central Wyoming may seem a little crazy. We like to think it's fate. Chris comes from a fifth-generation South Dakota farming family. Angie's father made wine in Minnesota for over thirty years. After a decade and a half of making wine together as a hobby, we merged those passions into Unlocked Vines, the pursuit of grapes and wines that are uniquely our own.

Casper Mountain sits at the seam where the Laramie Range gives way to the High Plains. Neither wins out here, and that tension is the terroir. Intense high-altitude sunlight. Cold nights that sharpen acidity. Thin air that ferments everything a little differently than the textbook says it should. Cold vine blended wine, crafted where the mountains meet the high plains and the rules run out.
